Snorkel Great Barrier Reef with Reefsleep

Reefsleep is the only place in Australia where you can sleep on the Great Barrier Reef! Enjoy two days of unlimited snorkelling, one night at the pontoon and an experience of a lifetime! Admire the sunset while dining and be entertained with the nocturnal activity of marine life.

Reefsleep is an extension of our popular Great Barrier Reef Adventure Day Cruise. Guests on the Reefsleep experience travel to our Reefworld pontoon onboard our high-speed reef vessel with day cruise passengers. Arrival at the pontoon is around 11am.

Enjoy all the wonderful activities on offer including snorkelling, swimming, semi-sub rides, viewing fish from the underwater observatory, sunbathing on deck, and taking the fast route into the sea from the waterslide! For an additional cost you can also spend your time diving, viewing the reef from above on a scenic helicopter tour or with your feet up, relaxing with an indulgent massage.

Come 3pm, the vessel departs the pontoon and this magnificent part of the world is open to you and your Reefsleep guests (maximum 12) to enjoy. After a day exploring the reef, watch the sun go down with a glass of wine over the glassy water. Included in this magical setting are sunset beverages, gourmet alfresco dinner including wine, overnight accommodation, full breakfast and buffet lunches. The evening dinner is a superb gourmet barbecue, served with other guests, or if you prefer, book a table in the underwater observatory! We'll turn on the underwater floodlights for you to watch the incredible marine life exploring at night.

Being so far from shore and any man-made lights, you'll want to study the stars through our telescope or lie back on a lounger and marvel at the night sky. You can choose to sleep under the stars in a 'swag' or a double bedroom (see accommodation details below).

After a peaceful sleep, start the day with a hearty breakfast. You'll have the place to yourselves until 11am when the Great Barrier Reef Adventure day cruise guests arrive. Then, all the activities of the previous day are back on the itinerary, so dive right back in and explore until the time comes to leave (around 3pm).

Reefsleep features two types of accommodation: Under the Stars Swags or a Double Room.

Under the Stars Swags

A swag is a cosy, low tent with a clear viewing panel above your head, a comfortable mattress and snug bedding. Our swags are available as king singles (for one person) or doubles (for two people sharing). The experience of sleeping in a swag out on the Great Barrier Reef is just unbeatable! Being so far from land, there are no biting insects, so you can even sleep with the cover open - just you, the sea air and the stars!

Double Room

The Double Room at Reefworld is air-conditioned with an ensuite bathroom. Ideal for couples!
